St. Patrick’s Day Green Ombre Shorts
Make green ombre shorts to celebrate St Patrick's Day with friends & family in warm climates.
- Tintex Kelly Green (#17) or Forest Green (#36)
- White shorts
- Plastic cover to protect workspace
- Rubber gloves
- Spoon
- Measuring cup
- Kettle or microwave
- Large bowl (stainless steel, glass, plastic etc.) or plastic bucket
- Paper towel (optional for testing dye colour)
St. Patrick’s Day Napkin Ring DIY Project
Use Tintex to create green floral napkin rings; celebrate St Patrick's Day with friends & family.
- Tintex Kelly Green (#17), Forest Green (#36), or try Brilliant Yellow (#5) for bright gold accents
- Fabric flowers (burlap, cotton, linen or silk)
- Ribbon, elastic or plain napkin ring to attach flowers
- Plastic cover to protect workspace
- Rubber gloves
- Spoon
- Measuring cup
- Kettle or microwave
- Bowl (stainless steel, glass, plastic etc.)
- Paper towel (optional for testing dye colour)
- Needle & sewing thread (optional to secure flower)
- Glue & glue gun (optional to secure flower)
- Hairdryer (optional)
- Use the hand fabric dyeing method to dye your fabric flowers.
- Gently dip into clean water, and carefully rinse until the water runs clear.
- Allow the flowers to air dry (or use a hair dryer for faster results).
- Cut a length of ribbon long enough to wrap around each folded cloth napkin.
- Hand sew the dyed flower to the middle of the ribbon of your choice (or use a glue gun to attach the flowers).
St. Patrick’s Day Scarf DIY Project
Celebrate in true Irish style with friends & family and make a stylish green scarf with fabric dye:
Materials:- Tintex Kelly Green (#17), Forest Green (#36), or try Brilliant Yellow (#5) for bright gold accents
- Scarf of your choice

St Patrick's Day Card with Dyed Wooden Buttons
Reinvent your old wood buttons for crafts, accessories or use to add character to a jacket, cardigan or dress bought at a big box store. Buttons can also used to add interest to hair accessories like barrettes or hairbands.
Materials Needed:
- Tintex fabric dye
- Plastic cover to protect workspace
- Rubber gloves
- Tablespoon
- Measuring cup
- Kettle or microwave
- Wood buttons
- Bowl (stainless steel, glass, plastic etc.)
- Paper towel (optional)
- Glue gun & glue (optional)
Project Instructions:
- Protect work area with plastic and wear gloves to avoid staining hands.
- Boil water in a kettle and set aside for 10 minutes or until water has cooled slightly. Water can also be heated up in a microwave for 1-2 minutes in a microwave safe container
- Mix 1 cup hot water with 1 tablespoon of Tintex Fabric Dye. Create a custom shade by mixing different amounts of 2-3 colours together. Brighter or darker colours will use more dye; pastels will use less dye. Get creative and experiment mixing different intensities.
- Test dye colour on a paper towel.
- Place buttons in the dye bath and make sure they are completely covered. Stir if necessary and check frequently to ensure that desired colour is achieved.
- Lay buttons on plastic cover to air dry.
- Use a glue gun to add the buttons to the paper.
- Clean work area with soap and water or bleach.
