2016 Colours: Rose Quartz & Serenity
Pantone released two colours of the year for 2016. You can use Tintex to mix custom Rose Quartz & Serenity colours for your dyeing projects.
"Rose Quartz is a persuasive yet gentle tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure. Serenity is weightless and airy, like the expanse of the blue sky above us, bringing feelings of respite and relaxation even in turbulent times." Source
Soft pink & blue may remind you of baby showers or children's rooms, but the classic colours are ageless and flattering on everyone. They complement one another and look great paired with neutral dye colours. You can easily use both as an accept or main colour in your home decor or wardrobe.
The dye colour guide helps you mix new colours using core Tintex dyes. Each custom colour recipe may include full or partial measurements of dye using teaspoons or tablespoons dissolved in one or more cups of water. A small amount of any bright or dark dye makes a pastel colour. You can start with the smallest amount and add more dye as needed. Using more/less dye will subtly or dramatically change the intensity.
100% cotton towels were dyed serenity and rose quartz using core Tintex dyes. You can always alter the amounts of dye used and/or substitute similar dyes from the same colour family if needed. Fabric content and existing colour effect the amount of product needed (get fabric dyeing tips).
- Rose Quartz: Dissolve 1/8 tsp Cardinal Red and 1/8 tsp Tan Beige with 10 cups of very hot water.
- Serenity: Dissolve 1/8 tsp Midnight Blue and 1/8 tsp Charcoal Grey with 10 cups of very hot water.
What do you think about the new colours? Will you be using Serenity and Rose Quartz in your 2016 projects?
